Head of Customer & Payments
We are looking for a Head of Customer & Payments to lead the strategy and evolution of the tech platforms that power Aller Media’s customer relationships and reader revenue. You will shape the future of our identity and login systems, subscription lifecycle, paywall, payments, customer data, and martech platforms - the core infrastructure that allows us to identify, engage, convert, and retain customers in digital and print channels across the Nordics.
The domain Customer & Payments is central to Aller’s customer strategy. A key part of your mission will be to guide the shift from legacy systems to a unified Nordic customer platform - enabling simple, secure, and data-driven customer journeys for years to come. You will create clarity, foster strong collaboration, and build an environment where teams feel ownership and are empowered to deliver meaningful outcomes.
You will be part of our Tech Management team, reporting directly to the CTO, and work closely with Commercial, and Editorial to help Aller deliver on its subscription and customer-engagement ambitions. Together, you will challenge both your own and each other’s ways of working, finding better ways to collaborate - ways that support and strengthen each other to create the best possible conditions for success.
What you'll do
- Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Customer & Payments domain
- Oversee the evolution of identity, subscription, payments, customer data, and activation platforms
- Lead the transition from legacy systems to a unified Nordic customer platform
- Ensure high-quality, compliant, scalable, and insight-driven solutions
- Build strong collaboration across Commercial, Editorial, and Tech
- Balance short-term operational needs with long-term simplification and scalability
- Oversee vendor relationships and budgets to enable effective, cost-efficient delivery
How you’ll lead
- Coach and develop Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Team Leads and Principal Engineers
- Create clear goals, structures, and ways of working that support consistent delivery
- Foster a healthy, open, and collaborative culture where teams continuously learn and improve
- Represent the domain in upper management and ensure transparent, aligned communication
What you bring
- 5+ years of leadership experience in Product, Engineering, or Platform roles
- Experience with customer, subscription, or communication platforms
- Strong understanding of customer lifecycle management and subscription businesses
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across Nordic or multi-market environments
- Confidence collaborating with Commercial and Editorial leadership
- Experience from leading transition into a modern agile way of working
- Clear, grounded communication and an agile mindset
